A new peptide pool is available – PepPool: EBV (CD4 and CD8), human. It includes an incredible 100 peptides of MHC class I as well as MHC class II epitopes, together covering 41 HLA types. The peptides are derived from 22 different EBV proteins, including proteins expressed during both the latent and the lytic phase.
As the Epstein-Barr virus has a high prevalence in the human population, one could consider using this peptide pool as a positive control. But more specifically, the recent uncovering of EBV involvement in multiple sclerosis and long COVID makes us excited to see further discoveries.
